We have set out to introduce you to our trainers through a short interview over the next few weeks, which will reveal a little about who they are, what aspirations they have, and how they relate to what they do.
So, we are talking to Maria Delia Rad. Although she is a psychologist by profession, she has been working in the pharmaceutical industry for almost 15 years. Delia has undertaken various roles, but all with a focus on communication and interpersonal relationships. For the past two years, she has also been a trainer, collaborating closely with Leadership Land.
B.S. – Please tell me something about yourself, what hobbies do you have, what do you do in your free time – if you have any? And I would be thrilled if you would reveal a passion project you are thinking about…
M.D.R. – In my free time, I read a lot, so my hobby is reading. As a passion project, I would like to practice psychology as a sports psychologist at some point in my life.
B.S. – That sounds great, do you have taken any steps in this direction?
M.D.R. – Yes, I have completed an additional training course, Psychology for High Performance Sports, at FC Barcelona Innovation Hub. And I would like to complement it with a few more courses in the country, which I consider necessary.
B.S. – I would like to know how your training program stands out from other programs available on the market?
M.D.R. – Authenticity, sincerity, enthusiasm and connection with the course participants, are some of the main charactersitics of our programs, due to the high level of interaction facilitated by the course format. The acquiring of new behaviors and skills is achieved through dialogue and interactive games, rather than just presenting information from slides on a computer.
B.S. – I know it is an interactive course, I had the opportunity to see this at our colleague Coca Staicu’s course, which I attended.
M.D.R. – Exactly, adults are much more receptive to the change if the answers come from within themselves.
B.S. – How do you ensure the practical application of the concepts taught?
M.D.R. – Follow-up sessions help greatly, online meetings where we validate what they have put into practice and what is working. Or at the beginning of the next module, we review certain principles from the previous session with the same purpose. Usually, during the training, participants have some “A-HA moments”, where an idea gives new meaning to a behavior, and they commit to continue practicing it. They become aware that ultimately, without practice, the desired change will not happen. I remember a situation, which is also a positive feedback for me, when a human resources director called me,after a certain period of time after finishing the program, to discuss managing a department issue, confessing what they had already applied from what we had practiced in the course.
B.S. – We conclude with one final question, namely: What are your thoughts at the beginning of this year 2024?
M.D.R. – For 2024, one of my goal is to be more attentive to how I organize myself, in order to optimize the time spent at work and achieving a balance between my personal and professional life. I aim to live consciously and remain authentic in my interactions with others.
B.S. – Thank you very much for your kindness in answering.
M.D.R. – It was my pleasure.
